You are a surgeon, able to open and close the flesh in order to heal others. When you successfully use the Heal Skill outside of combat, you can choose to either use your rolled SL, or the number rolled on your units die. Furthermore, you can treat any Critical Wound marked as needing Surgery, for effects see pages 172 to 179.
